My favorite generator was FD Toys because it was simple to use, they put it into categories and they were really interesting and fun.

Swivel
Swivel is definitely interesting. They have all kinds of graphs. This is like the wikipedia of graph research though, so it wouldn't be that acceptable for classroom research. But you could definitely create graphs and use them for classes whether printing them out or having students view them online. I think I like Microsoft Excel better though.
Thinkature
I do NOT like this. Almost every concept map in class uses labels on the arrows which this tool does not have, which makes it close to useless for classroom activities. Also the double clicking and clicking once and freehand stuff just went crazy on me. It may just be my home computer but I find this tool frustrating and not worth the effort. It is a good idea though, and could be useful if classrooms went totally technological, students could do their concept map assignments on it and then open up their account in front of the class to present it.
Still, not worth the effort.

Google Docs
Well this is pretty cool! Don't need a USB, this would beVERY helpful for school for basic projects. It has powerpoint, word, spreadsheets, etc. I think you can import already made slides from your computer to the google docs powerpoint O:
